BetVictor Sportsbook Review

BetVictor is easily one of the UK’s most reputable bookmakers. It began life in the immediate post WW2-era and was founded by William Chandler in 1946. William was the grandfather of the betting industry celebrity Victor Chandler. Victor Chandler took the reigns in 1975 and eventually sold the business to Michael Tabor in May 2014.

BetVictor recently underwent its latest rebranding, classed as a ‘brand refresh’ by the marketing team. This is a bookie with a habit of reinventing itself; in 2004 it became VC Bet, which was changed to Victor Chandler Ltd before the current name of BetVictor was chosen.

Social media wise BetVictor operates Facebook and Twitter accounts, and the latter has a solid following of over 77k followers though this falls somewhat short of competitors Paddy Power and Ladbrokes.

BetVictor is now the official betting partner of Chelsea FC, it has in excess of 500,000 customers in over 160 countries and a turnover in excess of £1 billion. In early 2016 it became an Authorised Betting Partner (ABP) of the British Horseracing Authority. Part of its brand refresh has seen an overhaul of the sportsbook, the icon modernised and the site simplified with the tagline of #SimpleAs.

In 2014 the bookmaker signed up Michael Owen as an ambassador and it has in the past worked with Ball Street to produce a great Youtube weekly series of previews and analysis. BetVictor has also sponsored the Welsh Open.

Betting markets

BetVictor is an excellent sportsbook and as such it boasts a range of sports to bet on from football to hurling, with a solid depth of markets within them and well priced odds too particularly on football.

The full list is here:

American Football, Aussie Rules, Baseball,Basketball, Boxing, Cricket, Cycling, Darts, Football, Formula 1, Gaelic Football, Golf, Greyhounds, Handball, Horseracing, US Horseracing, Hurling, Ice Hockey, MMA/UFC, Motor Racing, Motorcycling, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Snooker, Speedway, Tennis, Volleyball and Winter Sports.

BetVictor also offers Virtual Sports, politics and entertainment too.

It does not offer esports at this time.

In-play betting

BetVictor does live betting very well but it does not offer live streaming. BetVictor includes cash out as a feature meaning you can escape early with some profit, and something far more unique which BetVictor offers is Partial Cash Out. This gives customers even more flexibility and gives BV a distinct edge over competitors in terms of live betting.

Usability of the site

Since the overhaul of the BetVictor sportsbook and BetVictor mobile it’s thoroughly enhanced, and that’s not to say it was a bad product before, it’s just that now it’s one of the very best industry wide.

The site is sleek, modern and doesn’t overwhelm customers with promotions, promotions, promotions or too many options which just results in customer blindness. There’s no search bar which is a shame but you almost don’t miss it due to the top notch design and layout.

BetVictor mobile is also excellent, the app is good for betting on the go and customer support includes live chat which is easy to find on the top right, simply dubbed Chat. There’s also a BetVictor Help Center for FAQs should you need assistance.

Conclusion

Overall BetVictor is one of the best sportsbooks out there. It’s an established and reputable brand with a good sign up offer, it has extensive sports markets and its Price Promise means you’ll be well served if you like betting on football accumulators. Since its brand refresh the sportsbook is a delight to navigate, it’s intuitive and has a thoroughly modern feel.

If you like betting on football or horseracing there’s little need to look elsewhere.
