Betsson Sportsbook Review

Betsson itself is one of a number of betting and igaming firms which operate under the Betsson Group umbrella. These include Betsafe, Dhoze and NordicBet amongst many other casino brands.

Betsson itself is a Swedish company which was founded in 1963 and its headquarters are in Stockholm.

The Betsson blog content reflects its focus on Northern European customers with football and ice hockey the core focus, in addition to some tennis pieces. Content is mostly in the form of previews and is nicely laid out.

Former Liverpool and Norway footballer John Arne Riise was a Betsson ambassador though had to resign from this role after he signed for Norwegian Tippeligaen side Aalesunds FK. In terms of social media Betsson is live on Twitter though the account hasn’t been used for some time. There is a Betsson Youtube channel too though video content is sparse and hasn’t been added to for a while.

A Betsson technology hub was opened in Holborn, London in spring 2016

Betting markets

Betsson offers the following sports betting markets: Football, Olympics, Ice Hockey, Tennis, Basketball, American Football, Aussie Rules, Bandy, Baseball, Boxing, Cricket, Cycling, Darts, Esports, Formula 1, Golf, Handball, MMA, Motorbikes, Motorsports, Pesapallo, Pool, Rugby Union, Snooker, Trotting, Volleyball, Winter Sports, Gaelic Sports and Table Tennis.

As well as all of these it offers further markets in television, music, film and politics.

As a Swedish operator it offers a number of different sports to pander to Northern European customers such as Pesapallo and prioritises its Ice Hockey markets for the same reason.

It does not currently offer Virtual Sports.

In-play betting

Betsson live betting is solid but it’s aiming to modernise its offering and currently has a new Live tab in beta stage on the site.

Once this is up and running Betsson live betting will be thoroughly enhanced. As it stands it’s a solid offering and provides a good overview of match events and stats, such as amount of cards and corners in a football match.

Betsson live betting is offered across sports including football, ice hockey, basketball, tennis and more.

Usability of the site

The orange and white colour scheme gives it a crisp feeling, and this is aided by the fact that the site isn’t too image heavy.

Betsson banking options are plentiful and includes the usual Visa, Mastercard, Neteller and Skrill as well as paysafecard, though no PayPal at the time of writing.

Betsson customer support is strong; it’s easy to find via the Help tab at the top of the page and live chat is offered in addition to email and phone support. It states that its live chat response time is 30 seconds, which was met during the test, whilst email is 30 - 60 minutes. There is also video chat available which is a particularly innovative feature.

There’s a Betsson mobile app which ensures betting on the go is as easy as can be, whilst the blog can help you in your decision making prior to placing any bets!

Conclusion

Innovation is at the heart of the Betsson Group which was encapsulated by its purchase of Betsafe in 2011. The customer support is particularly strong, and the transparency of showing response times is refreshing.

There’s a Betsson mobile app too, a large range of sports betting markets are offered and once the new in-play feature is perfected, it’ll be a great sportsbook.
