BetFirst Sportsbook Review

BetFirst’s slogan is ‘First in Fun. First in Cash’ which reads somewhat strangely but you get the idea. The Belgian bookmaker has been around for a few years now and is fairly well established with a generous welcome bonus for new customers.

The company behind BetFirst is called Sagevas S.A., and whilst the bookie isn’t particularly well known across Europe and globally it is both well regarded and popular in Belgium where it holds its licence. This is an operator which is focused well and truly on sports betting, though it offers both virtuals and casino options too.

The site is in French rather than English from the get go but has English as an option too.

Betting markets

BetFirst is sports focused and has a tremendous range of options to cater to all sports and betting fans. The markets they currently offer are as follows: Football, Tennis, Basketball, Golf, Cricket, Esports, American Football, Australian Rules, Baseball, Boxing, Chess, Curling, Cycling, Darts, Futsal, Bandy, Floorball, Handball, Ice Hockey, Motorsports, Netball, Olympics, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Snooker, Squash, Surfing, MMA, Volleyball, and Water Polo.

The bookmaker also offers some specials markets such as politics and entertainment, and it boasts virtuals options too. It’s nice to see some esports options in there though these were fairly lacking during research.

The usual suspects make up the sports options but there is quite a wide base with the likes of winter sports and Futsal making an appearance. BetFirst does not offer horse racing.

Live betting

Live betting is an ever more vital part of a bookmaker’s armoury, and BetFirst is well equipped in this department.

Inplay is one of five main categories on the homepage, and there are plenty of options in this regard. The layout and design could be a little sleeker but it does the job, and when a user clicks on an individual match they’re shown some data, live stats and so on.

They could improve on the presentation of this data however as once you’ve clicked through to one match you’re a little overwhelmed with numbers and other markets down either side.

One major advantage BetFirst has over many in the inplay department is live streaming. BetFirst TV, for logged in users only, shows matches being played live. These vary but include football, basketball, tennis, ice hockey, baseball and volleyball. It’s a great option for fans and is a technically free service for BetFirst account holders. We say technically as you must have placed a bet in the past 48 hours or have at least 5 Euros in your account to gain this access. There’s a BetFirst TV calendar to ensure you can plan accordingly.

BetFirst is Belgium’s leading bookmaker for a reason; it offers a strong amount of markets, it offers both lots of sports options, inplay, virtuals but also casino.

On desktop it’s easy to use and the mobile option is strong to boot. There’s an app on both Android and the App store, and a separate first mobile bonus bet too. The new customer promotion is another particularly good bonus and should ensure that they continue to get a solid number of new sign ups regularly. There are plenty of option promotions too such as the Lucky Boost and referrals.

One area where BetFirst shines is in the inplay. This is largely thanks to the excellent BetFirstTV which has fairly comprehensive coverage of big games across football, tennis and other major sports. BetFirst allows customers to Cash Out on their bets, and they’re a member of GamCare and PlaySafeBeSafe in Belgium. BetFirst runs an affiliate program, and is strong on social media channels, particularly Facebook where it has over 13,000 followers as well as a further 1,300 on Twitter.

The Belgian bookie has the usual range of payment methods, including Paysafe, Skrill, PayPal and others. It sponsors two football clubs in the form of RFC Seraing and KVK, and it sponsors the Steylaerts cycling competition too.

In short, there are few superior locally focused options if you’re Belgian and keen on sports betting.
