BetClic Sportsbook Review

BetClic is one of the top sportsbooks in France and accordingly has signed up French footballing heavyweight Marcel Desailly as a brand ambassador.

The retired defender features prominently on the site which has a major focus on football betting. The site is primarily European aimed and is available in a total of 11 languages. It has licenses in Malta, Gibraltar and more and offices throughout Europe too including London.

It’s the founding brand of the BetClic Everest Group. This is an umbrella of brands focused on igaming and gambling which also includes Expekt which has been operating since 1999 and has over two million registered customers, and Bet-at-home which is a major operator in Germany. Other brands include Everest Poker, Everest Casino, Imperial Casino and Monte-Carlo Casino.

BetClic has over 12,000 Twitter followers. Other ambassadors have included Ruud Gullit, Karel Poborsky and more.

Betting markets

BetClic is European focused and its sports markets are adjusted accordingly. They’re grouped in full for you to see for yourself here: Football, Tennis, Ice Hockey, Basketball, American Football, Aussie Rules, Baseball, Boxing, Cricket, Cycling, Darts, Formula 1, Golf, Handball, Martial Arts, Motorcycling, Nascar, Olympics, Rugby League and Rugby Union.

BetClic does not offer esports, horse racing nor virtual sports. It also does not offer entertainment markets. In general the range is very limited. It’s focused on the first four it promotes; football, tennis, ice hockey and basketball and if you’re interested in anything else then look elsewhere.

In-play Betting

BetClic likes to claim it’s big on live betting. Certainly it offers a range of sports but it doesn’t offer live streaming nor live commentary and the section is a little outdated, in keeping with the rest of the site in this regard.

Usability of the site

The BetClic site feels a little old fashioned and has not been modernised to the same standard as has BetVictor for instance. It’s a little awkward to navigate in that it doesn’t have a full sports list to drop down and search through on the left as is typical, nor does it have a good search bar function.

It heavily promotes football, as well as tennis, ice hockey and basketball with all other sports under the Other Sports banner. As a UK facing operator it seems foolish not to include horse racing odds as this’ll put off a great deal of bettors. For live betting too the BetClic product isn’t as intuitive or fun as many rivals’, though there are BetClic mobile apps for both Android and iOS which the site states gives you ‘instant access to 30,000 bets every day.’

The BetClic site does have a calendar which is useful but again it could be made more engaging.

BetClic customer support exists in the form of live chat and email ([email protected]) and is easy to find and use. The BetClic live chat is one touch away which is far more accessible than many others, and this improves the site no end.

Conclusion

BetClic is restricted in a fair number of European countries but for those it’s available for, it’s a good bet only if you like betting on football, tennis, ice hockey or basketball.

It offers decent promos such as its Multi+ bonus but the sports it offers are very limited, and there’s no political or entertainment options at all. The site is also in need of an overhaul in terms of modernisation and making it a more fluid and intuitive end user experience.

Its signed some good ambassadors in the past and as a key part of the BetClic Everest Group it has money to invest, should it wish to continue to attract new customers and retain them this is a necessity.
