Topbet Sportsbook Review

TopBet is a relatively new addition to the online sport betting industry and was launched in 2001 in an attempt to shake off its controversial past.

The bookmaker are licensed and regulated offshore by the Government of Curacao. The company itself operates out of Manila in the Phillipines.

TopBet have access to the lucrative U.S.A market and as a result, they focus their attention mainly on American Football and Baseball. TopBet is also accessible in Europe, but the website only operates in the English language, underscoring their focus on America. TopBet is restricted in Canada.

The site operates with FutureBet’s platform for bookmaking, but handle their own payment processing. As well as their sportsbook, TopBet also have a Casino, which includes a huge range of games, including live poker.

TopBet have had a few sponsorship deals in the past, including an R2 million deal with South African football club Randburg Association FC.

TopBet has a large presence on social media sites with almost 15,000 followers across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Compared to other bookmakers, TopBet are incredibly active online, offering daily advice, exciting wagers and promotions.

Betting Markets

TopBet has a limited range sports markets available, but as they have access to the American market there is a huge focus on Baseball, American Football, Basketball and MMA.

This isn’t to say that there is no focus on sports outside of the US as they offer markets for sports including Soccer, Golf, Tennis, Hockey, Boxing and Rugby Union.

However, there is an obvious lack of some sports compared to other bookmakers, most specifically those sports played outside of the US.

As well as this, there is also a good selection of Entertainment wagers, focusing on politics and celebrity news.

Live Betting

The Live Betting facility is designed well when you can access it, but due to a lack of focus on this feature there is not always the greatest range of markets and odds available, and if there is nothing available there is no way to familiarise yourself with the platform.

There is no live streaming and no live cash out option available, making live betting with TopBet feel tired compared to other, more exciting bookmakers.

Usability of the site

TopBet is simply designed with a black and yellow colour pattern and feels very easy to navigate. However, although the design and layout feels familiar, this also gives the impression of monotony and the bookmaker could do more to be different.

TopBet is designed for the average player and has relatively low betting limits compared to its competitors. This means there is an excellent selection of promotions for both new and current players. Currently there is a welcome bonus of 50% with a limit of $250, a 10% bonus on reloads up to $250, a 25% refer a friend bonusup to $250 and and 30% Thursday reload offer.

Contact is limited to phone and e-mail support, but TopBet operate this facility 24/7. The lack of a live-chat facility is an obvious issue that TopBet should attempt to address in such a fast paced, international industry.

Their mobile support is smooth, well designed and easy to use, but it does not offer anything that other bookmakers don’t.

In terms of payment methods, there is not a huge range of options with a choice of Visa, Mastercard, DHL and QuickCash for deposits. The best way to withdraw is to have cheques couriered to your address and it will arrive within a couple of weeks.

Conclusion

Despite some obvious failings in such a competitive and lucrative industry, it is TopBet’s access to the American market that enables it to remain a top choice when it comes to the sports betting industry.

However, more improvements will need to be made if the site is to keep up with the fast paced and ever changing world of sports betting.
