GG.bet eSports Review

One look at the GG Bet homepage and one thing is clear; this is an esports focused bookmaker. It offers bold and brash colours, with esports as the leading tab and a stream embedded onto the main fun filled landing page.

This is a relatively new bookmaker founded in the summer of 2016. It is operated by Brivio Limited, a company itself registered in Cyprus. The gambling arm is licensed by Invicta Networks and it holds a licence in Curacao. This means that UK customers for instance are unable to bet on the platform.

GG Bet has tried its hardest to ingratiate itself with esports communities at large. It has done this by partnering with a number of major teams and sponsoring them. These have included Fnatic, Natus Vincere (better known as Na’Vi), Team Secret, SG-Esports, Luminosity and North. It is with North that it has enjoyed the most comprehensive of partnerships, working with them to create a branded documentary series, titled ROAR and becoming the CS:GO only org’s title sponsor with branding across the shirts and even having the team play as GG Bet North in certain competitions.

GG Bet is powered by Bulgarian odds supplier UltraPlay which markets itself as the esports odds provider leader globally; one justification being that it offers odds on the largest amount of titles which, at the time of writing, is 25 and counting.

Betting Markets

As mentioned, GG Bet is an esports focused bookmaker and so hones in on this audience.

It offers a variety of markets on the following titles: League of Legends, Dota 2, CS:GO, Overwatch, Quake, Rocket League, King of Glory, Warcraft 3, Battlegrounds, StarCraft 2, Call of Duty, Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm, FIFA, Vainglory and World of Tanks.

Outside of esports GG Bet offers some markets on sports including football, ice hockey, tennis, volleyball and basketball amongst others. There is also a slots section of the site, and something called Insta Games.

Live Betting

GG Bet is live betting first and foremost. Head to the homepage and lo and behold you’ll find a live stream embedded and front and centre for all to see. It lists on the left hand side the competitions and titles with which there are currently in-play options, and in general the site is designed for the bettor in the here and now.

Live streams give is a big plus one and it ensures it has this by sponsoring a number of competitions across esports titles.

Usability of the Site

When it comes to esports, GG Bet is one of the first names many will come up with alongside the likes of Betway, Unikrn and Bet365. GG has ‘activated’ the most partnerships and is probably the most prominent in branding across teams and tournaments to date.

This has worked to some degree, and the site is nicely designed for esports fans, especially as it boasts the team icons throughout. The live focus is smart, as is the inclusion of the streams. Mobile works well enough though there is no dedicated app, and the site’s simplistic and not-too-busy layout is logical. There are a solid range of titles when it comes to esports, and it’s a good call to include some sports options too, after all a lot of esports fans like their ‘traditional sports’ too.

Customer support exists in the form of email and live chat, whilst payment and withdrawal options are solid; the site accepts Visa, Mastercard, Skrill, Neteller, EcoPayz, Webmoney, Yandex, Qiwi and Alipay. It accepts Bitcoin too.

GG Bet is active on social media, especially Twitter (where the esports world comes to live) and there is alot of GG Bet promotions on Twitch. There is a news tab on GG Bet too which is satisfactory but could do with some work and more engaging, consistent and better promoted content.

Conclusion

A lot of esports focused bookies could learn a lot from GG Bet, and promotions such as the documentary series with North is a clever move. The hope is that they can offer more and more competitive odds going forward, and if they continue to offer more titles and markets within them it should stand to benefit as more become aware of regulated esports betting.
