It was founded in 1999 by Jochen Dickinger and Franz Ömer in Austria and went public on the stock exchange in 2004. In April 2009 Bet-at-home became part of the BetClic Everest Group, a French betting group which also includes Betclic and Expekt amongst others. Dickinger stepped down as Bet-at-home CEO in 2012.
The Bet-at-home Group operates in Austria, Germany, Malta, and Gibraltar and acquired a licence from the British Gambling Commission in 2014, and an Irish one in August 2015. The bookmaker also gained an Italian licence for sports betting and igaming in 2011.
The bookmaker is the title sponsor of Hertha Berlin since 2015 and has also sponsored Schalke 04 since 2011. It has also sponsored events and teams in sports such as handball and ice hockey which shows its focus on certain European markets such as Germany and Austria.
