Expekt Sportsbook Review

Expekt was founded in 1999 and is based in Malta. It was founded by Swedish pair Christian Haupt and Conny Gesar and is fully focused on the European marketplace.

In 2009 French group Mangas Gaming paid a reported €125 million to take control of the entirety of Expekt.com operations. This is a company which also owns French focused bookmaker Betclic, Bet-at-home and owns majority shares in Everest Poker.

Due to its European focus Expekt boasts multiple language support; the sportsbook is available in 27 languages and counting. It has over 1.8 million registered customers and at its launch became one of the first major online sports betting operators in Northern Europe. It’s these Nordic markets that it remains focused on, and the sports markets and the site is adjusted to this measure.

The ambassadors that Expekt has opted to sign deals with are also clearly influenced by this focus on Northern Europe. The team of Expekt ambassadors includes a host of former football pros such as the Polish Zibi Boniek, ex German player Fredi Bobic, Glenn Strömberg who was once Swedish player of the year, Sepp Piontek the one time manager of Denmark and ex-Finnish international Jari Rantanen. In addition to this group Scotty Nguyen is the global poker ambassador for Expekt.

Betting markets

Expekt offers its customers a great range of betting markets particularly in football, basketball and ice hockey. The breadth of coverage in football is up there with the best of them, and in addition to the major European leagues you can bet on far more obscure leagues such as the Kuwaiti League 1 and the Japanese J-League 2 amongst many others. It’s extremely comprehensive in this regard and should be enough for any bettor!

The full range of sports can be seen here: football, tennis, basketball, ice hockey, American football, Aussie rules, baseball, boxing, cricket, cycling, darts, floorball, F1, golf, handball, motorcycling, Olympic athletics, rally, rugby league, rugby union, snooker, speedway and volleyball.

In addition to these Expekt sports betting markets it also offers occasional specials in politics and entertainment.

Inplay betting

Expekt live betting is offered in football, tennis, basketball, ice hockey and more and is decent but could do with a better and more fluid design. It also offers a live scores function which includes a search function for full and fast flexibility.

Usability of the site

The Expekt site is fresh and well designed, there are few graphics and load times are accordingly fast and navigation is easy. Expekt mobile is also a strong product with the Expekt app available on both Android and iOS. This is available in seven languages and is a more than adequate tool for betting on the go with instant access to over 30,000 bets daily.

The Expekt statistics function is a particularly handy tool for analysing sports, teams and players and the modern feel ensures that the end user experience is clear-cut, easy and a pleasure to use.

Expekt also runs a VIP program in which members can gain benefits such as a VIP host contact, tickets to events and other rewards.

Customer support is available via live chat and email ([email protected]). The response times are clearly displayed on the site (two seconds on chat) and 2 hours and 21 minutes by email.

Conclusion

Focused on the Northern European markets Expekt is a great betting operator if you’re keen on football, ice hockey and basketball with a wealth of markets in these sports.

Backed up with Mangas Gaming it’s reliable and the app is a great bonus especially if you enjoy live betting. Whilst it isn’t the most comprehensive in terms of other more niche sports, its simplicity is refreshing and allows for an enhanced end user experience. We fully recommend it!
